  • Happy Holidays 2020

December 23, 2020 celeste Hot Yoga and Pilates Center Comments Off on Happy Holidays 2020

This year started out the “Roaring 20’s” then as we all have experienced the Roar was silenced in March and continued for the majority of the year. Projects, lectures, education, fitness , exercise and most all human connectivity put on hold, we experienced closures and strict regulations. We are looking forward to a better 2021 as we try and navigate the “new normal”. Gratitude should lead your way, many of us have rediscovered moments and experiences that we would just pass by unnoticed because of the busy race that once created reasons to go faster. Sometimes these rediscovered grateful moments can change the course of life. I encourage all of us to continue to “Begin where we are Now “. If you are waiting for change or redirection, then we look from within for improvement and the opportunities daily for which we can create change not only for ourselves but others. Remember the feeling of giving, making others Happy? That starts from within, the win is within! 2020 is almost behind. Let’s take with us the learning , growing and challenging experiences, as these help build a stronger character. Merry Christmas and a very very very Happy New Year!

  • Healthy Nutritional Planning

April 30, 2020 celeste Hot Yoga and Pilates Center Comments Off on Healthy Nutritional Planning

The best way to keep your heart healthy, maintain ideal body weight, fuel for your exercise, maintain healthy levels of cholesterol and blood sugar is to eat a healthy meal plan (diet) of more plant based food choices. As an example I like to consume more “clean” foods that are in their most natural state. My “go to” for lunch and/or dinner is a fresh salad, with a variety of vege and fruit choices added to a fresh mix of green lettuce without commercial salad dressing. Many salad dressings contain hidden calories, high in sodium, and high in fats. Substitute salad dressing with Balsamic vinegar, a little olive oil, lemon juice and pepper.

Fiber is also very important in maintaining healthy blood glucose levels. If your blood sugar stays consistent during the day, you will feel less hungry and avoid high sugar cravings. Foods such as steel cut oats, seeds, nuts, berries, beans, broccoli, avocados, and whole grains and more filling are high in fiber. These types of healthy food choices added to your nutritional plan will keep you feeling more full throughout the day verses highly refined white flour carbohydrates that will make you hungry sooner.

If you want to lose weight, lower cholesterol, maintain healthy blood sugar levels, then high fiber, nutrient dense food choices should be incorporated into your healthy nutritional plan.

  • Stay Happy and Positive

During times when you feel a bit stressed and anxious, take a few deep breaths, look around you, and find gratitude in what you have accomplished, where you are at in the moment, or are striving to accomplish and all of the great and glorious moments in your life. It is a challenge not to fall victim to negativity, when the news and people around us seem to complain about the same things. This will pass, it is a bend in the road not the end of the road. Take care of yourselves , trust and be thankful.

  • January 2020 Sweat factor

January 8, 2020 celeste Hot Yoga and Pilates Center Comments Off on January 2020 Sweat factor

Hot Yoga is far from “cooling” off. In fact super sweaty classes have a huge following. It has been gaining traction since the 90’s. Why do people love it? Because it feels more like a workout, there is a level of intensity and it builds strength, focus, determination and enhanced will power. In Hot yoga we begin with a breathing exercise to warm the body from within. There is a warm up series of postures, then a balancing series, cardio and muscle postures then flexibility postures ending with a final breathing exercise to push out toxins and energize the body, mind and spirit. It is truly a 90 minute or option 60 minute express class of moving meditation. Also heated but a bit less is Inferno Hot Pilates , a 60 minute class focusing on high intensity interval training to boost the metabolism, burn calories, sculpt and tone the core. Definitely a Napa Hot Yoga and Pilates Center class favorite. Meet Us On the Mat!
